Be the League on your campus.
Students who spread the word get the kit, their own login, and a $500 stipend paid $50 a month to promote the Ohio Founders League however they see fit, on their own time, from now until the State Championship on May 19, 2027.
What you get, and what we expect.
The kit
- OFL t-shirt. Wear it to class, events, and tabling.
- Sticker pack. Laptops, water bottles, campus boards. Each sticker carries the QR code to your link.
- Ping pong balls. Branded, for tournaments, club nights, and giveaways. Every ball carries the League mark and the QR code.
- Flyers and one-pagers. Printed from the print library with your QR code. Boards, departments, dorms, the entrepreneurship center.
- Your ambassador login. Your dashboard: link, numbers, kit status, materials.
- $500 stipend, paid $50 a month. Paid monthly by the League Office to promote OFL on campus through May 19, 2027. How you promote is up to you.
The expectation
At least 5 companies registered each month through your link, and 20 cumulative ongoing businesses by May 19, 2027, plus Scouts and other active users. Ongoing means the venture is live on the platform and posting progress updates.
It is a contractor role: you perform the duties on your own time, paid $50 a month, $500 in total. How you promote is up to you. Tabling, class announcements, club nights, a ping pong tournament, the group chats. The League provides the materials, the pitch, and ready-to-post copy, and makes more on request.
Your personal link and QR code credit every registration to you, and your dashboard shows your numbers against the goal every day.
Ideas that work
- Table outside the student union or the business building for an hour, twice a week. A laptop open to the registration page, a stack of flyers, a sticker for anyone who scans.
- Five minutes at the start of every entrepreneurship, marketing, engineering design, or computer science class you can get into. Ask the professor; most say yes.
- A ping pong tournament with the branded balls. Entry is scanning the QR code. The winner gets the t-shirt.
- Student org meetings: business fraternities, engineering societies, design clubs, the esports club. Members who are not building can play as Scouts.
- The campus newspaper, the department newsletter, the Discord servers, the GroupMe chats. The short post copy is on your Materials page.
- Find the founders who are not in any program: the student selling on Etsy, the lab team with a prototype, the roommate with an app. One conversation and a link.
What ambassadors ask us.
- How do I get paid?
- $50 a month, $500 in total over the program, sent by the League Office. You are an independent contractor, not an employee: you set your own hours and handle your own taxes. Your dashboard shows how many monthly payments have been made.
- What exactly is expected of me?
- Promote the League on your campus however you see fit. The success metrics are at least 5 companies registered through your link each month, and 20 cumulative ongoing businesses by May 2027. Ongoing means the venture is live on the platform and posting progress updates.
- How much time does it take?
- That is up to you; it is your own time. Most ambassadors will find that a few focused hours a week, tabling, class announcements, and conversations with founders they know, is enough to hit five a month.
- What do I get, and when?
- The kit (t-shirt, stickers, ping pong balls, flyers) ships to the address on your My details page after you are approved. Your login and personal link are ready the day you are approved. The first $50 is paid in your first month.
- Can I spend the stipend however I want?
- Yes. It is a stipend for promoting the League; printing, snacks for a tabling day, a prize for a ping pong night, or your own pocket. You decide.
- How do I know what counts for me?
- Your personal link and QR code. Anyone who opens it and registers a venture or becomes a Scout within 30 days is credited to you, and your dashboard shows registered, live, active, and Scouts, plus this month against the goal of five.
- What if a venture I brought in goes quiet?
- Only active ventures count toward the 20. A nudge from you to post an update is usually all it takes, and the dashboard shows which ones have gone quiet.
- Can I ask for materials or suggest changes to the platform?
- Yes, any time. The League creates materials and makes product improvements on demand based on ambassador feedback. Use the request box on your dashboard or email the Commissioner directly.
- What if I want to quit?
- Find your replacement first, so your campus never loses activation. Introduce them to the League Office, and once they are approved your link is ended and theirs begins.
- Can my campus have more than one ambassador?
- Yes. Each ambassador has their own link and their own numbers, and the League Office approves ambassadors per campus.
- Who can apply?
- Any currently enrolled student at one of the ten founding universities. You do not need to be an entrepreneurship major or have a venture of your own.
