Built for every founder, Scout, and campus.
The Ohio Founders League platform is designed and tested to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. This page is our accessibility statement and our Accessibility Conformance Report.
What we do
- Every page works with a keyboard alone, with screen readers, at 200 percent zoom, and on a phone-width screen.
- Colors meet the WCAG contrast minimums. Nothing is conveyed by color alone. Motion can be paused and respects the reduced-motion setting of your device.
- Training videos carry captions and transcripts. Documents are published as tagged PDFs, with the same content on the web pages.
- Sign-in is an emailed code. There are no passwords to remember and no CAPTCHAs.
- We test with automated tools and by hand before each release, and we publish the results below.
If something does not work for you
Email kevin@ohiofoundersleague.org with the page and what happened. We reply within two business days and will provide the content or function another way while we fix it. Founders can also post progress updates and Final Challenge proof by email to the League Office if the forms are a barrier.

- Notes
- This report covers the web platform at ohiofoundersleague.org. It does not cover third-party sites linked from it.
- Downloadable PDFs: the Campus Lead Packet, the print library (one-pagers, flyer, deck), and the three guides are produced as tagged PDFs. The per-venture Final Challenge review packet is an accessible web page that prints to a tagged PDF from the browser.
- Revision history: version 1.1 (October 14, 2026) supersedes version 1.0 (October 12, 2026). The only change is 1.3.1, from Partially Supports to Supports, after the Final Challenge review packet was rebuilt as an accessible web page.
- Level AAA criteria were not evaluated and the AAA table is omitted, as the VPAT instructions allow.
- Supported browsers: current versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and Safari on desktop and mobile. Sign-in uses emailed one-time codes; no CAPTCHA is used.
- This report is maintained at ohiofoundersleague.org/accessibility. Report an accessibility problem to the contact address; we aim to reply within two business days.
- Evaluation Methods Used
- Automated testing with axe-core 4.10 (WCAG 2.0, 2.1, and 2.2 Level A and AA rule set) driven by Playwright across 46 representative pages: 20 public pages and 26 signed-in pages across the founder, Scout, campus lead, and League Office roles.
- Manual keyboard-only testing of registration, sign-in, posting a progress update, submitting a Final Challenge, Scout picks, nominations, and League Office review, including dialogs, tooltips, and menus.
- Manual review of page structure and semantics (landmarks, headings, labels, names and roles), media alternatives, motion, timing, and authentication flows.
- Reflow testing at 320 CSS pixels wide and 200 percent zoom; color contrast measured for every text and control color pair in use.

WCAG 2.x Report
Note: When reporting on conformance with the WCAG 2.x Success Criteria, they are scoped for full pages, complete processes, and accessibility-supported ways of using technology as documented in the WCAG 2.0 Conformance Requirements. Rows marked 2.1 and 2.2, or 2.2 only, apply to those versions of the guidelines.
Summary: Level A, 30 Supports, 2 Not Applicable. Level AA, 1 Not Applicable, 23 Supports.
| Criteria | Conformance Level | Remarks and Explanations |
|---|---|---|
| 1.1.1 Non-text Content (Level A) | Supports | Informative images carry alternative text; decorative images, icons, and the Ohio outline are hidden from assistive technology. Charts and progress rings have their values in adjacent text. |
| 1.2.1 Audio-only and Video-only (Prerecorded) (Level A) | Not Applicable | There is no audio-only or video-only prerecorded media. The four training videos have both audio and video and are covered under 1.2.2 and 1.2.3. |
| 1.2.2 Captions (Prerecorded) (Level A) | Supports | All four training videos (Founder, Scout, and Campus Lead walkthroughs and the Campus Lead briefing) carry closed captions as WebVTT tracks selectable from the player. |
| 1.2.3 Audio Description or Media Alternative (Prerecorded) (Level A) | Supports | The narration describes what each screen shows, and a full text transcript is published under every video. |
| 1.3.1 Info and Relationships (Level A) | Supports | Headings, lists, tables with header cells, form labels, landmarks, and live regions convey structure on every page, including the per-venture Final Challenge review packet, which is an accessible web page that prints to a tagged PDF from the browser (resolved October 14, 2026; it was an untagged generated PDF in report version 1.0). |
| 1.3.2 Meaningful Sequence (Level A) | Supports | Reading order follows the DOM order; layout is CSS only. |
| 1.3.3 Sensory Characteristics (Level A) | Supports | Instructions name controls by their labels, not by shape, color, or position. |
| 1.4.1 Use of Color (Level A) | Supports | Status is conveyed with text or icons alongside color (for example Needs review, Nominated, Approved). Links in running text are underlined. |
| 1.4.2 Audio Control (Level A) | Supports | No audio plays automatically. Videos start only when the user presses play. |
| 2.1.1 Keyboard (Level A) | Supports | Every control is reachable and operable by keyboard, including tooltips (Enter or Space), clickable table rows (Enter), slide-over panels, the welcome tour, and scrollable tables. |
| 2.1.2 No Keyboard Trap (Level A) | Supports | Dialogs hold focus while open and release it on Escape or Close; nothing else captures focus. |
| 2.1.4 Character Key Shortcuts (Level A 2.1 and 2.2) | Supports | No single-character keyboard shortcuts are implemented. |
| 2.2.1 Timing Adjustable (Level A) | Supports | Sign-in codes expire after 15 minutes and can be re-requested at any time. Sessions last 30 days. No other time limits apply. |
| 2.2.2 Pause, Stop, Hide (Level A) | Supports | The season ticker on the public site has a Pause button, pauses on hover and focus, and does not move when the operating system's reduced-motion setting is on. Celebration animations run once and are disabled under reduced motion. |
| 2.3.1 Three Flashes or Below Threshold (Level A) | Supports | Nothing flashes. |
| 2.4.1 Bypass Blocks (Level A) | Supports | A Skip to content link is the first focusable element on every page, and navigation and main landmarks are present. |
| 2.4.2 Page Titled (Level A) | Supports | Every page has a descriptive title in the form Page name · Ohio Founders League. |
| 2.4.3 Focus Order (Level A) | Supports | Focus follows the visual order. When a dialog opens, focus moves into it; on close, focus returns to the control that opened it. |
| 2.4.4 Link Purpose (In Context) (Level A) | Supports | Link text describes the destination; repeated View details controls carry the item name for assistive technology. |
| 2.5.1 Pointer Gestures (Level A 2.1 and 2.2) | Supports | No multipoint or path-based gestures are required. |
| 2.5.2 Pointer Cancellation (Level A 2.1 and 2.2) | Supports | Actions complete on pointer up; destructive actions (removing an update, submitting a Final Challenge) ask for confirmation first. |
| 2.5.3 Label in Name (Level A 2.1 and 2.2) | Supports | Accessible names begin with the visible label. |
| 2.5.4 Motion Actuation (Level A 2.1 and 2.2) | Supports | No device-motion input is used. |
| 3.1.1 Language of Page (Level A) | Supports | Every page declares lang="en". |
| 3.2.1 On Focus (Level A) | Supports | Focusing a control changes nothing on its own. |
| 3.2.2 On Input (Level A) | Supports | Filters and selects change results only on an explicit Apply or submit; forms submit with a button. |
| 3.2.6 Consistent Help (Level A 2.2 only) | Supports | Each portal page has a How this works control in the same position in its header, and the contact address appears in the same place in every footer. |
| 3.3.1 Error Identification (Level A) | Supports | Errors are described in text at the top of the form and the field keeps its entered value. |
| 3.3.2 Labels or Instructions (Level A) | Supports | Every field has a visible label; longer forms carry inline guidance and tooltips. |
| 3.3.7 Redundant Entry (Level A 2.2 only) | Supports | Previously entered values are kept when a form is returned with an error, and registration does not ask for the same information twice. |
| 4.1.1 Parsing (Level A) | Not Applicable | Removed in WCAG 2.2. Pages are generated by React and are well-formed HTML. |
| 4.1.2 Name, Role, Value (Level A) | Supports | Native HTML controls are used throughout; custom controls (tooltips, dialogs, the ticker pause) expose role, name, and state through ARIA. |
| Criteria | Conformance Level | Remarks and Explanations |
|---|---|---|
| 1.2.4 Captions (Live) (Level AA) | Not Applicable | No live media. |
| 1.2.5 Audio Description (Prerecorded) (Level AA) | Supports | The narration of each training video describes the screens shown, so no separate description track is needed. Transcripts are published with each video. |
| 1.3.4 Orientation (Level AA 2.1 and 2.2) | Supports | Content works in portrait and landscape; orientation is not locked. |
| 1.3.5 Identify Input Purpose (Level AA 2.1 and 2.2) | Supports | Name, email, and telephone fields carry autocomplete attributes. |
| 1.4.3 Contrast (Minimum) (Level AA) | Supports | All text meets 4.5:1 (3:1 for large text). The brand orange used for text and buttons is #B04A2B; helper text is #66697A or darker. |
| 1.4.4 Resize text (Level AA) | Supports | Text can be enlarged to 200 percent in the browser without loss of content or function. |
| 1.4.5 Images of Text (Level AA) | Supports | Text is real text except in the logo. |
| 1.4.10 Reflow (Level AA 2.1 and 2.2) | Supports | Pages reflow to 320 CSS pixels without horizontal scrolling. Two exceptions are permitted by the criterion: data tables scroll sideways within their own keyboard-reachable region, and the print library pages reproduce fixed paper sizes. |
| 1.4.11 Non-text Contrast (Level AA 2.1 and 2.2) | Supports | Form field borders, focus rings, and icons meet 3:1 against their backgrounds. |
| 1.4.12 Text Spacing (Level AA 2.1 and 2.2) | Supports | Layouts use flexible heights; applying the criterion's spacing overrides causes no clipping or overlap. |
| 1.4.13 Content on Hover or Focus (Level AA 2.1 and 2.2) | Supports | Tooltips open on hover, focus, or activation, can be dismissed with Escape, and stay open while the pointer is over them. |
| 2.4.5 Multiple Ways (Level AA) | Supports | Pages are reachable from the site navigation, the footer, the Learn index, and in-page links. |
| 2.4.6 Headings and Labels (Level AA) | Supports | Headings and labels describe their content. |
| 2.4.7 Focus Visible (Level AA) | Supports | A 3 pixel focus ring in navy, or in light peach on navy backgrounds, is shown on every focused control. |
| 2.4.11 Focus Not Obscured (Minimum) (Level AA 2.2 only) | Supports | Sticky headers are accounted for with scroll padding so a focused control is never hidden behind them. |
| 2.5.7 Dragging Movements (Level AA 2.2 only) | Supports | No drag-only interactions. |
| 2.5.8 Target Size (Minimum) (Level AA 2.2 only) | Supports | Buttons, links, and tooltip terms meet the 24 by 24 CSS pixel minimum or have equivalent spacing; inline links in sentences are exempt under the criterion. |
| 3.1.2 Language of Parts (Level AA) | Supports | All content is in English. |
| 3.2.3 Consistent Navigation (Level AA) | Supports | The site navigation and each portal's sidebar appear in the same order on every page. |
| 3.2.4 Consistent Identification (Level AA) | Supports | Controls with the same function use the same label everywhere (for example How this works, View details, Lock in). |
| 3.3.3 Error Suggestion (Level AA) | Supports | Error messages say what to change (for example the period cannot end in the future). |
| 3.3.4 Error Prevention (Legal, Financial, Data) (Level AA) | Supports | Submissions that commit the user (accepting terms, submitting a Final Challenge, removing an update) are confirmed before they take effect, and progress updates can be removed by the founder. |
| 3.3.8 Accessible Authentication (Minimum) (Level AA 2.2 only) | Supports | Sign-in is an emailed six-digit code that can be pasted; there is no password, CAPTCHA, or puzzle. |
| 4.1.3 Status Messages (Level AA) | Supports | Confirmation banners and toasts use role="status" so they are announced without taking focus. |
